Swansea 3 Cardiff 0 and asking the painful questions.

A match that started with questions.

All starting with 'why'.

Why not play Mutch, Noone, Hudson and MacNaughton? The 'why's' kept echoing through the first half hour.

Fabio is a liability. He is a full back who thinks he is an inside right. He is forever too far down the pitch. This means Caulker is doing two jobs.

Turner is no ball player. You just wait for him to thump the ball up field to their goal keeper from where it is returned with interest. So Caulker has three jobs to do.

Without Noone, the player in form, we had no outlet on the wing. Without a winger Kenwyne looks lost. When Ken looks lost he fades away on the basis of:if you won't play ball with me then I won't play ball, full stop.

Why drop Mutch? he does what the boss wants. He can hold the ball, bring it forward and  distribute it with ease. And he scores goals!

Lessons learnt ... Fabio would be fine on the same wing as Valencia,  I.e. someone who can track back and save his arse. Maybe Noone could be swift enough. But why not just play MacNaughton? Then Noone could get forward ....except Noone wasn’t playing!

So the Swans have a field day. Only nerves prevented them scoring in the first half.

Ok there are maybes. If Bellamy's curling shot had gone in rather than hitting the bar, or if Kim-Bo's turn had been sharper for his shot inside the penalty area. Always ifs.

That is the fate of losing teams, which is why sport is so enticing. You never know what will happen, The trophies don't always go to the deserved.

Today they did. Cardiff were second best to the Jacks. Ok Third best. We couldn’t get the ball, we couldn’t keep the ball.

We are now officially in the relegation battle.

Get your tin hats, the next few months could be painful.
